is a matching numbers restore the best way to go. overall does it increase the value of the car. could a car be just as valuable if its custom such as a chevelle ss with a bigger engine than original along with completely custom interior and great body work.

Really depends if you are a 'purist' or a 'hot rodder'. Of course, if you have a matching numbers vehicle, where everything is original, it would be worth a lot of money....to the right person.

Sunny: As said by Loren - the "purist" and matching # will count with certain cars especially. You mentioned Chevelle - that's one!

Corvette will attract bigger bucks if matching and some others too,
