Hi folks, I wonder if there's anyone here who might be so kind as to help me identify the old vehicle in these photos. The person in the first photo is either my wife's great uncle or her great grandfather. If we can get an ID on the vehicle, I'm hoping it will give me a better idea of the year the photo may have been taken (since the vehicle looks rather new). FIRST PHOTO - http://i.imgur.com/bj9PueB.jpg Here's a second photo which I THINK might be the same car. I might be wrong though. SECOND PHOTO - I'm also keenly interested in these cars, so having them ID'd will be very helpful! Thanks in advance! Very best, ZF

You might want to try Hemmings Motor News. They specialize in these types of car, a lot of archived pics too. It might be either modified or likely a small maker of cars that didn't make a lot of them. There are a few things that stand out to me on this. In the second pic you can see a hood ornament that looks like a scale model of an airplane engine. Either the manufacturer put it there or perhaps this man was a pilot in WWI. Also note on the upper right corner of the grill the AAA logo. One thing that sets this apart is the very trimmed back fenders. There's a lot of open space that would allow more airflow to cool the brakes. It also reduces overall weight. If the motor was built up much, this would've been an ideal car for moonshiners to use. I'd be interested in hearing your findings on this. Please post back if you do manage to figure out some history on this car.
