Rotating tires Sign In

When I was putting some snow tires on my car I noticed that it is kind of hard to align both the height of the wheel as well as the lugs to put the tire on. I was thinking on building some type of tray that will lift the the tire up and allow me to rotate it as well to make sure that it is perfectly aligned. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do that or some other things that I could work into it?

Just a small car, or possibly truck. Ideally it would be able to be used for a lot of different vehicles.

I think that someone has already beaten you to it for the big trucks. I can understand it being difficult to put tires on your car with it low to the ground. Putting tires on a vehicle that is on a lift doesn't require any special tooling unless you are working with extremely heavy tires. If the tire is that heavy, then it should be considered a two man lift or a special tool like the ones at the bottom could be used.

Maybe you could improve on this one and make the tubes going to the wheels have the ability to spin, so you can line up the lug studs with the holes in the wheels.

LMAO - DS

OK to know ---------------- I'm just short of 6 feet tall and weigh about 110 lbs ---------------- tires are heavy for me! It's not amusing but I struggle with my own C/K 2500 truck - nothing funky with it but man the wheels weigh more than I do!

I think Kitty weighs more than I do!

My best bet is to literally go to a shop and ask locally where you can get what.

If you want to check out Chinese junk (IMO) from Harbor Freight or now might be Harbor Tool and others like J. C. Whitney and some others.

Could buy a nice house with the bucks I have in tools! Not for the timid.........
