02 isuzu trooper diagrams
|

I have an 02 isuzu trooper doing electric diagnostic any one know or have access to wiring diagrams that cover the 4 wheel drive system with TOD. even if i have to pay for the info. I need detailed diagrams showing wire colors and where they go. or any thing covering step by step what and where to check

well it's much more than i have, and it will do for now. all depends on how in depth I need to go, to find the problem

None of the diagrams show an electrical switch other than the Power/Winter switch.

yes the dash on and off is not shown. and that is my starting point. 4 wire switch with key on and in drive two wires are hot turn the switch on one of those two leads goes dead and I am getting nothing on the other two at all. not sure what should be what. one must be ground. this thing will be a work in progress for a bit i think there is no power at connections for vacuum controls on front differential

Hammer time.. finally found what i was looking for, right from Borg Warner. and after some reading and checking. this is my conclusion, based on what I think. every indicator on this trooper says the system is working. press the switch and the 4wd indicator lite comes on, and the red check lite for the system is none active. it is my understanding by jumping pin 8 and pin 4 on the OBD port this will put the TOD system in to check mode and blink a code if all is well or if there is an issue.blink a code. well I jumped and the lite does not even come on. which is telling me there is no communication with the TOD controller (computer) meaning computer NO good ? whats your thought. had the same issue with a 91 talon, no check engine lite on but definitely a running problem. did the same thing jumped to pull possible codes nothing. had the computer checked and it was the problem. and that was after spending 6 hours checking every thing else

There are no flash codes on that system.

ok i will explain a bit more. the cabin port that any car has the one you would plug a scanner in to.. on this isuzu trooper. the same port jump #8 and #4 pin from what I have read, will cause the red check light under the 4wd indicator lamp on the dash to flash a code. that are stored in the TOD computer. code 12 all is well any thing else is an issue. no light ,no flash,no nothing,

Isuzu does not provide a method of displaying diagnostic trouble codes without the use of a scan tool.

ok after some looking I found every thing needed on this trooper in regards to wiring diagrams and so much more.
Hammer time. I even found, right out of a isuzu service tech manual, where it explains where you can ground pin 8 and get and retrieve stored trouble codes for the TOD system, it also covers the steps to clear codes all with out a scan tool. problem is for some reason the check lamp for the TOD with a good bulb, will not light. as well as certain others like drive indicator in the instrument cluster. have a new tech2 scan system coming. I tried attaching the pages covering what I stated but for some reason could not get them here. right now this is still on hold let me know if you would like to see those pages.

that's cool, when I finally get to a point where all the control modules can be scanned, I may have a bit more that can be added to this as to what all the issues were with the TOD and four wheel drive system . I did manage to solve the check engine lite issue. that was just a matter of a good cleaning and lubing of the EGR valve as well as a new gasket. seams they are prone to moisture and are effected by extreme cold when the moisture occurs. I am still trying to find the data card for the tech 2 that covers this year isuzu
