I have been trying to replace my rear brakes for 2 weeks now and I cannot get the damn tires off. I have tried kicking them, running over things while lug nuts are losened along with going a little and slamming on my brakes, hitting the tires with a mallet and many other things and they will not come off my car. It's seriously severely stuck on there. I need to know what in the world to do cause I am not taking it to a shop to pay 5 times as much that I paid for the pads for some mechanic shop to do it when I can replace the actual brakes my self. So please .... I am praying someone knows a way to get the things unstuck. FYI the lug nuts will come off..., they are not stuck!

Bigger rubber mallet should do. If you slam them with a real sledge they'll come off but not bets on these wheels already. Have had or torch them off and just have to replace anything damaged. 5 cents of grease on the hubs would prevent that forever and you didn't do it and nobody does routinely. Any place that does tires would have them off in no time unless really severe, -- T

Well, I don't understand how or why they are so stuck! I just had new tires put on a yr. ago. So I don't get it and I have hit it but not enough swinging room. Any other suggestions? Someone emailed me from a CRAIGSLIST post and said to loosen lug nuts half way and spray PB Blaster and rock car back n forth and 9 outta 10 times they will break free. Is this a good idea really?

NO! You can deal with each wheel nd could cost you a wheel. You don't likely have the stuff it would take so perhaps just go some place and ask to have tires rotated. We deal with this bull all the time. Sorry if wrong but you are busting your family jewels over something we all deal with. I/we know your troubles. Just let someone do it that deals with anything wheels/tires. You said "new tires a year ago" -- They should have been rotated at least twice by now! Tom

Take all the lug nut off except one that is on by a few threads. Donkey kick the tire from the inside. Just don't knock the vehicle off the jack stand. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

DS has got the right idea only I would not recommend a novice with light duty stands to kick from under the vehicle. With just one wheel at a time jacked up and loosen lugs halfway. sit on yo butt facing wheel and with both feet kick the sh_ _ out of it at the bottom of tire. repeat as needed. LIFE'S SHORT GO FISH

Just loosen all the lugs a couple turns and drive in a circle until you hear it knocking. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
