just got this old work van [1989 dodge caravan] for nothing but its having problems with transmission shifting which I already posted but I drove it home and water was coming out on the engine[driver side] and out of engine[ passenger side] can you help me because I'm disabled and can't do too much and want to know if I can fix it. thanks

Ted, you need to look at it and see if you can pin point it or least give a little more of a description.....like the head/block/waterpump/ radiator ...ect, there are several places where a leak can take place, also keep in mind water travels too. The guys and me will offer the best advice and info we can.

looks like it's leaking like from the top of engine around thermostat housing but I don't think it's leaking, and running across the intake manifold from passenger side over to driver's side

Top.....? O.K., You need to check all hoses/ around the head/ thermostat housing/lower intake and its hose connections. Is this a big leak...fast or slow, and need to know size of engine.

engine is a 3.0 and it's leaking as fast as I put the water in

NEED TO CHECK :
ALL WATER HOSES
FREEZE PLUGS
HEAD GASKETS
INTAKE
If you don't understand these name of parts you really need to drive it to a shop if you can and have someone to check it or somebody that has a little bit of mechanical knowledge to come and take a look at it...I'm sorry but youre not suppling enough info for me to help you without pics of area where its leaking.

I pretty much know what I'm looking for. this even pours water out with it not running and as soon asa you put it in and I can't see any hoses leaking and looks like it's leaking more towards the top of engine. thanks

Just a thought here..
These have a return pipe that goes into the back of the block at the top of the transaxle
It has a rubber o-ring on it that seals it and its bolted in place.
Possibly this o-ring seal is leaking.

I've been looking and it looks like it has a water pipe going into the back of the water pump going across top of engine under intake and I think that's where it's leaking so I guess I'm going to have to pull the water pump and everything to make sure. thanks
