I am trying to put transmitio fluid in my 1996 pontiac grand am and cant find it.please help

I'm guessing you have a dipstick to check the level? If so - that's where you add fluid. In general - automatics are checked on level ground, idling in park (some use N) warmed up and marks indicate pints not QUARTS and don't overfill.
There are some exceptions out there and use plugs on side and bottom of trans. Owner's manual should have suggestions on this topic for the car at hand, type of fluid, capacity etc.,
