chevy 1500 auto transmission 2001 wont move in drive

chevy 2001 ,1500 will not move in drive . works in reverse,1st,2nd. can start off in 1st ,manually shift to 2nd ,then to 3rd then to drive ,truck keeps going. after stopping ,must shift back to 2nd or 1st to get moving again no prior trouble . has 140,000 miles fluid level good
