replacing a 1995 ford windstar automatic transmission output speed sensor wire connector. this vehicle has a speedometer cable.
1. Which connector pin wire connect to the red wire on vehicle?
2. The connector has 2 wires and they are the same color.
3. I was not very wise today. I tool the old one off and did not follow the wires.

Arggh: Tough info now to be sure. There might have been different transmissions and options so all info AYOR. Found a picture (not trying they don't show for me here either) and the vehicle shows a red wire and white wire. Either may also have a stripe?
When you look at the pic of this (could be wrong one) with the hold-down bolt referenced to the top in a view going clock wise at the sensor installed the red wire is 1st at about 7 O'clock, the white at about 8 O'clock.
This was 1st year this model year was sold for Windstar up to over one whole year before the model year opens Pandora's box for Fords IMO. Kinda like "Just get this thing out on the market now type thing!"
OK: Suggestion as many pig-tails are same color like you have harness wasn't if still OE. Cut the wires when ready - any of this junk anywhere at slightly different lengths removes the confusion AND when you splice, solder and shrink wrap it the connection isn't likely to fail to touch the other wire(s) .... Other: Go get a bunch of Dollar Tree (if you have one nearby) nail polish and mark the wires AHEAD OF TIME! Giving away my tricks.

Search away or wait for another opinion here. Good luck - two wire stuff it may not matter but don't risk it,

It's a VR sensor, so it doesn't matter which wire goes where. Either way you put the wires it will still produce the same signal.

Thanks for the recommendation. You were right two wire stuff it did not matter. I took the essay route and just hook it because there was another recommendation that it did not matter which wire goes to red or ground.
