Transmission problem?! Sign In

I drive a 2000 Honda Accord. For a while now (and I mean months) the car seems like it is "slipping"(?) gears? By this I mean that if I am stopped at a red light, then accelerate, you can feel the transmission wind up, and if you don't let off the gas and let it catch up. It'll kinda jolt into the next gear. And it does this in all gears. I've had the tranny fluid checked, and he said it was ok. And wasn't burnt. I just haven't had the money to go and have the Transmission looked at. My biggest fear is that the Tranny could be going bad. Any Idea?

Any transmission trouble codes being stored? You should have it looked it. If it is a problem and you keep driving it like that, you might be turning a simple fix into a transmission replacement or overhaul.

As soon as I am able to I am going to have it checked out. The money just hasn't been right. But I will say that I am very easy on the Transmission. I never power through on it, I always take it easy, and ease up on the throttle to let it catch back up. And at least it doesn't seem to be worsening. I was just wondering if there were other possible causes, other than Tranny Failure...

It could be an electrical problem, but diagnosing it would hopefully isolate the cause.
