Transmission Sign In

I have a 2000 ford expedition with a blown motor v8 Tritan 5.4 I have a 1998 ford explorer with same motor but bad transmission I have been told that they aren't compatible what do I have to do to swap the good transmission to the good motor

I don't see that engine available in the Explorer? That alone would make me say no but you need to be totally sure. Salvage yards if you have the right info have the software for what will direct fit to what but I think you'll find these are too different vehicles in general for a swap,

Never knew the Explorers came with a 5.4L. Crazy
