Tranny or cv or Sign In

Well when I put my car in either; OD, D, 2, or R, when I give it gas my motor just REVS, and the speedometer moves with the TACH, and revs up aswell. Is my tranny blow? If I put it in Park, I have to push down my e-brake otherwise the car will roll. If the car is not all the way reved down, and you put it in park I hear I awfull grinding noise, which I think it coming from the front passenger side. Thanks in advance, hope you can Help Also if I hold down the brake while the car is in park and give it gas the tach only moves and not the speedo........what could it be? CV joints? Tranny? Axle? THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP IN NEED

Re: Tranny or cv or Sign In

I had a similar problem with my caddy it turned out to be that the right front axle came unbolted from the trans so I would say stick your head under their, grab hold of each axle and make sure their connected it only takes one being broken or disconnected to stop you from movin. the grinding when you put it in park is the parking paw inside the tranny stop revin it and puttin it in park you probably didn't damage anything but it's best not to do that

Re: Tranny or cv or Sign In

It sounds like the trans has gone out, and grinding noise always a bad sign, drop the pan and check for shavings and check color of fluidUnsurebtw what make and model?
