YES I HAVE A 1999 MITUBUSHI GALLANT 2.4 L V6 I WAS DRIVING AND IT JUST STARTED SLOWING DOWN THAN IT STOPED IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP ALL THE GEARS WORKED IT JUST WOULD NOT MOVE IV TRYED EVERYTHING CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE!!

IV CHANGED THE SOLENOID ITS NOT THAT IM SO CONFUSED!! SOMEONE SAID ITS THE TRASMISSION BUT I DONT THINK SO BECAUSE THE GEARS ARE PERFECT ITS LIKE SOMETHING IS LOCKED ON THE CAR AND WONT NOW THE CAR WONT MOVE BUT IT WILL START UP GO INTO PARK DRIVE REVERSE NETRAL MY CAR JUST WONT MOVE

When you say it will go into everygear you mean the shifter right? Did this happen all of a sudden? do you know the engine size or just give me the vin number so i can look up transmission type. Gary

IT JUST HAPPENED ALL OF A SUDDEN I WAS DRIVING MY RPM STARTED SLOWING DOWN SO I PULLED OVER TURNED THE CAR OF THAN TURNED IT BACK ON IT WOULD START UP GO IN GEAR BUT WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE IT DOES NOT ROLL

If it doesnt roll in park that would rule out a broken axle, It certanily sounds like a transmission issue, the shifter will move because that is hooked to the transmission via a cable. Just to try to pinpoint what went bad do you or is there someone that can pull the transmission dipstick out and tell me fill the fluid appears to be above the full mark. Gary

Hello,
If the fluid is above the full mark, that means to me that your pump stopped working. for this to happen all of a sudden, something must have got jammed in the pump and broke the gears. Im sorry to say that the trans would have to come out and be overhauled. Next question, i know the car does not move, when you select the gears like reverse or drive, do you hear any noise while in gear. Gary
