Hi, I have a 2000 Nissan Primera with automatic transmission. I noticed that if I drive for about 30 mins the car will slow down and eventually stop. It will not move even when in drive or reverse until I wait for the engine to cool. When I start it after the rest period it moves normally and repeats the problem after another long drive. Again I have to wait for about 10 mins to rest the car before it moves again. I have checked the fluid and its ok. Please what could be wrong or causing overheat?

I would have a transmission shop do a diagnostic to confirm it, but you most likely need a new transmission.
