Manual Honda Accord RPM jumps when shifting Sign In

I bought a 2011 Honda Accord 4 cyl manual transmission (76,000 miles) this year and noticed that when shifting, especially 3-4 gear and 4-5 gear, when the engine is under load accelerating or going up hill the rpm will jump as much as 500-600 rpm. I have never had this happen with a manual transmission vehicle before. I was told this is normal for newer Honda cars with manual transmission. Is this true? If not, what could be the cause/remedy.

Have you attempted to clean the throttle body plate and bore and reset the PCM? You may need a factory scan tool to perform the PCM reset. Reset clears all the learned values for the electronic throttle system.

? Used standards. Have you ruled out a plain worn out clutch? RPMs go up but speed doesn't is a strong clue. Granted, hard to know if you can't look right at the wearing parts how good clutches really are,
