Jk wrangler 2010 hot trans oil warning, won't start Sign In

HotOil warning, from cold start, and won't start,
Jeep JK wrangler 2010 unlimited 4 door (diesel) 2.8L crd
47.000 km

Ok, my problem started one day when the hot oil light would come only for a brief flash here and there. An hour later my dash board was screaming at me with a non stop, HOT OIL warning, I pulled over in to a parking lot, and turned the car off and went to have something to eat for 30 minuets. (giving the transmission time to cool, all though I suspected it was something electrical in nature)
Jumped in 30 minuets later, turned the key to one click before start, hot oil warning still going off, went to start up, and nothing, completely dead.

For half a day it sat in the parking lot, until I lucked into some information, (pull fuses m13, for 30 seconds then put it back in,) car started first pop, with no warning lights, driving home same problem happens, hot oil warning.
This time, Nothing works, fuse m13, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. It won't start until the engine is completely cold 4 to 8 houres later.

I don't know what to do, I can't get my jeep started, please help.
(spent $500 getting the transmission serviced, and my mechanic undid and checked every earth on the jeep, called about 8 different people, jeep specialist, auto electricians, and jeep them selves)
(ps two different mechanics couldn't get there scanners to conect with the jeep)
Problem still not solved.
Please help.

Hello,
It sounds to me like you may have a bad computer, Are you getting code 218 for the trans temp? Also the fact that the scanner will not communicate with the car. You may want to try to tap on the computer too see if it starts up, also if you do get the scanner to connect, tap on the computer again to see if the trans temp moves(not sure if that would work, but give it a try) The wranglers had problems like this in 2006 more than any other year, but doesnt mean it cant happen in newer jeeps. In the past were you able to get DTC's using the "key dance" - I am not sure that works on 2010 MY - also it will NOT report all codes- it is somewhat limited...

Clear this up - you claim it wont start - when you try to start-
will the engine crank, turns over ?
the engine will NOT crank?

Something easy I want to throw out - is there 12v at the ALDL cavity 16?
Vehicle is STOCK - no alarm added, no remote starter, no modifications,

This being a CRD information will be hard for me to get on Sunday,

Not much question that it's not a US car being a diesel and all.

Re: Jk wrangler 2010 hot trans oil warning, won't start Sign In

my comment about CRD and sunday because they are NOT typical if at all sold in north American;

The fact it will not crank would have me starting with BASICS...
diesel or not the same circuits-

It's a 4 speed, with an additional 5th overdrive gear.

Re: Jk wrangler 2010 hot trans oil warning, won't start Sign In

Kurt,
The 2 trans codes you have, P0882-TCM low power input, and P0988- pressure switch rationality. Both of these codes can be caused by loss of 12 volts TO the trans. I would look into powers and grounds first, check connections, fuese, relays, or clear the codes and see what comes back. Not sure i would put a solenoid pack in that yet. Gary
