ALSO I have a 96 ford f250 4x4 and the problem I have with it is when you drive down the road and get to about 45 or 50 the truck starts jumping and shakeing so bad you have to hit the breaks what can that be thanks for your time Justin P.S I am still haveing problems with the 94 chevy over chargeing I have went thoruth 2 alts in less then a month any ideas the 94 has a 350 5.7 with 300000 miles and the 96 has a 7.3 turbo desial with 250000 miles Tom Greenleaf Ultimate Carjunky / Moderator Sep 28, 2008, 4:58 AM Post #2 of 3 (1735 views) Re: ELE PROBLEM AND DRIVEING PROBLEM Sign In  Justin - it's Kitty here - Tom is just a stage name! My worry is this alternator overcharging is now the source cause of problems. All the junk (puter, sensors etc) in the Chev are for the normal ranges of a 12v system and if it's exposed to much higher than perhaps even 17v it's about sure wierd things will happen. The regulator for that has to be straightened out and I can think of a trigger outside of it that will make it default to overcharging. It's hard to believe but possible to have two defective regulators??!! From that fix then suspect anything electrical for the trans. It's been mentioned that if you need diagnostics for trans that if you go thru Autozone they will do a courtesy check for you thru AAMCO. If that's available in your area I'd take them up on that. _______________ 96 F-250 4x4 - Wobble at moderate speed? Certains everything about the steering, suspension, brakes, and tire(s) is in the cards for that. I'll see if I can find the style of wheel bearing this uses for fronts as I've had those if the "inner/outer" separate type feel great, no particular anything wrong until you look right at them. Found one of those types behave well on just an outer and go wild at some speed after some time similar to your observation so far. Hey - with all those miles, when do you have time for the computer? First, check and see if one or more guages are not reading right. The problem that I have fixed many time is the ignition switch,the electrical part. The reason that the ignition switch is to blame is because over time the contacts inside the switch become corroded. Call the dealer and give them your VIN #. They can look it up and I'll bet they have it in stock. Also, scan the computer somewhere. See if you get multiple codes for solenoid circuit failures. This will also help you diagnose the problem. Very rarely do you get more than one circuit code at a time.
