Sign In Hi everyone, I've got a used car that I purchased an extended warranty on. The transmission recently went out on me, and the warranty company has denied coverage claiming that the tire wear showed that they were misaligned and that was the reason the transmission went out. I've taken it to two mechanics who both thought that claim made no sense. I'm looking at taking legal action on this, but I wanted to check if anyone here might think there could be anything to the warranty company's claim. Could the tire alignment actually damage the transmission? Sign In The only way the tire wear can effect the transmission is if you have a lot of tread on some tires and little to none on others. If AWD tire wear matters. About those "aftermarket" warranty things. Not a fan, "NO" it's your fault or not covered a fav thing of those. Take the premium and dance the dance not to help or blame something.
