I recently replaced the shift solenoid but i am still having some issues. a) shifting is still hard mostly when coming to a stop and down shifting. b) there is a slight whining sound from the left front ( tranny area ) and i can here it ramp up at times when driving. c) and its been dropping into neutral when coming to a quick stop mostly when everything is cold. "C" on your post. Drops out to neutral when slowing/stopping noted. Are you absolutely sure this is properly filled with transmission fluid? Happens but are you sure it's even the correct dipstick for it? That happens too. Use ONLY the required fluid - I think its ATF4 double check and do not get cheap here. I am not sure about the dipstick its the one that came with the van. What is stupid is that the transmission is one of most engineered parts of this van and i cant find anything anywhere that tells me how much fluid the thing takes to operate properly. i put a lil more in this morning and the weird shifting has stopped so i guess i am going to have to take it in and have it power flushed and re filled. kev2 Veteran Sep 25, 2014, 1:41 PM Post #5 of 6 (1695 views) Re: 99 T&C transmission problems Sign In   why not get the correct dipstick ? See your local friendly Chrysler dealer. 4-5qts with a filter is @ right BUT was it full to start with? The dipstick is the way to confirm level. Did you use the correct fluid as mentioned?
