98 toyota avalon

seems like tranny trouble how do i configure if it engine or tranny? Car stalled and when jumped the starter dont turn the engine. Its seems locked. Car lift by jqack in parking and the front wheels spin freely. Cannot get shifter into any other postions with brake pedal pressed.

It could be that child saftey switch inside stifter console or the connection from there to the brake pedal. As for the engine you check that by turning the crankshaft using its center bolt.
