Hello, my 1996 Honda Accord LX w/ automatic transmission has had problems in the past with minor transmission slippage but now it's insane. I flushed the oil with Genuine Honda ATF-DW1 transmission fluid a few weeks ago and the slippage became very minimal. However, recently when the car tries to change gears the RPMs go really high and it fails to change gears. It just makes a really loud noise "vrrroooomm" and the car goes really slow. If I drive slow enough and barely push on the acceleration I can get it to change gears but that definitely pisses off the drivers behind me. The fluid is at the right level and is a reddish color. Is it possible it may be the torque converter that is causing this problem? Thanks

You've been on borrowed time with a wasted transmission for some time now. It's tome to bite the bullet and have it rebuilt before you ruin a whole lot more. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
