96 Dodge P/U Tranny/Xfer case prob? Login - Sign Up

Just repaired a 96 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 that had a small engine fire and sat for a good while. All is well now except it won't move. If I put the transfer case in neutral, we can push it. If xfer case is in gear, it won't move. I don't know if the xfer case or tranny is the prob. When we put the tranny in gear, it does nothing. The likages are fine. We did push the truck some with another vehicle slowly (with it in gear) so nothing is hard siezed. Why would the tranny not engage?

Thank you.
