87 Isuzu Pup Transmission- Does not shift	Sign In

1987 Isuzu Pickup 2WD
4 Cylinder,
2.3L engine,
2K Miles.

My truck is an automatic and will not shift 90% of the time. It will go in reverse, park and first but not much else. I drove it for a half hour last night pushing it to the limit of first and it never changed gears. I drove it for another half hour this morning pushing the limit and it finally switched into second but not into third, although i didn't push it too much. Transmission fluid is not low, it is actually over full. I was told this could be a problem but I overfilled it over a year ago and I haven't had any problems until now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

How many bolts in the transmission fluid pan?

2K miles?

Sorry for the late reply. Have been out of town, and could not take my vehicle.

There are 14 bolts holding up the transmission fluid pan.

I do believe it has the Toyota A44DL transmission. That transmission uses a governor to control shift timing. It also has a lock up torque converter. I suggest that you swing into a transmission shop and let them have a look at it.
