Make sure you installed the shifter into the forks properly.

We can't see inside your transmission. We don't know what you may or may not have done wrong in the installation so until somebody actually checks things I don't have any answers.
We can't do that from here.

Re: 86 mazda b2000 Sign In

This thing is 31 model years old. You might have a problem if you did find the exact reason inside which is probably a crunched up 'gear' when it moves there you get reverse and or any bearing plus if a shaft is worn it's not even a core to work with? Can't know but can see inside..............

My crystal ball works sometimes? Hammer Time's works but neither of us can see it. I'd be on the hunt for a used one that you can turn and make work and most places still would warrantee it more than look for another to try?

Site's trans guy specialist may be by to suggest it's easy and common. I wouldn't know that or parts available easily?

I told her to verify the shifter was installed into the forks correctly but she wants the crystal ball version.

Re: 86 mazda b2000 Sign In

Ladydeath1: Sorry for some fooling around while you are in trouble with this. Here's a problem for me with this truck. IDK for squat without a hunt with a VIN# what trans this could possibly be in the area where Mazda and Ford both had their hands in whole parts or the whole truck.

Shifter has to be right as Hammer Time said right away. Trouble is if parts crunched, fell into the mix and quickly ground up inside there's trouble to get out of that.

Your first post again ">can someone help me we putt a trani in an a new clutch an I don't have reverse an it sounds like a bunch of marbles rollen around what is it needs help<"
Does that mean another transmission or the one that came out and this needed a clutch job and you just put a working one back in?

If a used replacement have to know if it was any good which isn't always possible. Without knowing it was fine before it's not right now used or your old one just put back after clutch job. If you did full battle lining it all up properly supported till tightened up there's another chance to ruin a good transmission and the clutch too new now or not.

If this was in front of me with this problem it would be a problem - parts and diagrams of just what you could do to even inspect the thing and what should be where.

By VIN you could buy a year of AllDatadiy.com for just this if needed and may. If shifter did NOT go back they way you took it out perfectly I doubt you are going to know what may have broke and caused more problems if any or just tear into it to get the parts out to find out if new ones are the fix or if you are in trouble with this.

My point is I doubt I could easily find a used one to even work on if needed if there damage because of the way this trans went back in,

Have you checked the fluid level in the transmission?
