Hi I could really do with some advice. I started having some problems with my gears on my Seat Altea at the start of this year. Basically it just wasn't going in to 3rd gear properly. So i took it in top a garage for repair (a Seat specialist apparently). Firstly they told me that it was the teeth in the gears were worn and needed replacing (£600-700 including labour). They then put it together and found that the fly wheel and clutch needed replacing as well (up to £1200). this all took about 3-4 weeks. Each time i phone them up now they tell me the car should be ready within a couple of days. I originally took it on the 15th January. I really feel they are taking the piss. Any advice and are the prices realistic would be much appreciated. Many Thanks Matt

Maybe you should pay them a visit and find out what the hold up is. Maybe they are waiting for parts... Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
