I have a 2008 Ford Fusion that has had no major issues. Just break pads and the like. First let me say I thought it was 60k between transmission fluid changes but found out today its only 30k. I had my transmission fluid changed at about 60k and its now at 122k. I knew I was a little over but didn't think I was that far over. Today we had our first 90+ degree day. I was driving home and had two hard shift on the highway. I thought it maybe allow transmission fluid so I checked it and found it to be dark. I called a local place and had my transmission fluid changed and they said it was very dark but did not see any metal shavings. After the change the car seams to drive just fine with no issues. I took it down back roads and on the highway and it drove as smooth as ever. Could the the hard shifts be from bad transmission fluid or should I be worried about damage? Is there anything I can do now or was changing the fluid it?
