The car eventually came to a hault. The car will not move when placed in drive. What are the possible diagnoses? If low find out where it leaks and if burned looking plan on a rebuild. I checked the transmission fluid. It is clean. The gear will only shift into park or neutral. It was suggested that perhaps the linkage or another mechanism that controls gear may have gone bad. Linkage could do stuff but I would be surprised that it would do it once already in gear and going. You would think it would let go when you shifted it right away??
