2001 Jeep Transmission Sensor Switch Malfunction Code 705 Sign In

I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee sport 4WD with the 4.0 L and Auto Trans. I keep getting code 705 and the check engine lite for a neutral safety/ transmission sensor switch malfunction. I checked the switch with an ohm meter and it checks out OK. I then removed it and took it apart and cleaned it internally and put it back together as reccomended by another web site. Checked it again and the ohm meter says it is fine. I even checked the mating connector for power and ground. Voltage looked a little low on the power pin (11.8V) but the ground was good. The same power is used for the backup lites, and they work fine. When I clear the code, I barely make it out the driveway before the code 1899 (neutral safety switch issue) and/or 705 ( transmission sensor switch malfunction) show up. The two switch names seem to be used interchangably in the shop manual. ( I have the manufacturer full shop manual) The 705 code makes the check engine lite come on and stay on. The 1899 code just shows up, but does not make the check engine lite come on. The car runs fine and the transmission shifts fine, but I can't seem to find the source of the 705 error code. All other connectors to the Transmission Controller and Power Train controller seem to be tight and clean. No sign of damage, bent contacts or corrosion.
