1999 Nissan Altima, 4 cyl, automatic... No D3 Sign In

Line to trans cooler came off, daughter drove about one mile before pulling over. Reattached line, refilled. Ran thru all the gears. Initially had nothing in reverese and D2, now have D1, D2 and reverse. Shifting manually it goes D1 to D2 but will not shift to D3.
Is it possible there is air trapped in the valve body, or is a clutch pack fried?

Thanks!

Hello,
Question, if you put this car in drive, does it make a 1-2 shift and then rev out when it should shift into 3rd? Gary

No noticeable engine slip in any gear. Trans won't shift D2 to D3.

Ok, so this shifts 1-2-3-4 when selector is in drive with no problem? When its in manual mode it wont shift 2-3, does it just seem like it stays in 2nd? Gary
Any check engine light on? are there any codes present in the trans? Gary

Selector in drive...shifts 1-2, stops shifting after that.
Manual shift is 1-2, no shifting when selecting drive.
Not sure if this is a over drive trans or not.
No lights on, haven't checked for codes.

Thank you for responding! It is appreciated!
Ken

Does it seem like it just stays in 2nd after the 1-2 shift? does it seem like it attempts to go into 3rd

There is no signs of attempted shifting past D2, either manually or with Drive selected.
Later this morning after snow clean up I'll test drive again to see if a complete cool down changes anything. I'll keep you posted.....

Ok, the reason for the questions is, on this trans the 3rd clutch is the weak point of this trans. Gary
