1999 Chevy C1500 won't go in Reverse	Sign In

1999 C1500 Chevy Silverado (4.8L) 147,000 miles. I was driving down the road and heard an acceleration sound and when I tried to drive it later I had no reverse! I wasn't towing anything and haven't towed anything with it in over 2 months. It's like I'm in neutral when I have it in reverse.
Help!
