VW 09 Polo Power Steering Problem Sign In

Hello.

I'm hoping someone can offer me some guidance. I'm a learner driver and recently bought a 09 Polo. Recently the power steering has been going, this has happened on a few occasions but is fine once the car is started again and doesn't happen all the time. The clock, radio etc also completely reset and the ABS light has come on a few times but goes straight off.

I've tested the battery and all seems fine. However I do get a low battery voltage code 01598.

Any advice greatly appreciated

I think this not sold here USA, being a mini mini size vehicle.
It utilizes an elec power steering pump...seeing a code for electric issue it is likely related.

Belt or belts tight enough? If it stalls of course power steering is going to quit too and warning lights coming on is normal if a stall.

That's the problem and might be low voltage to run this car so a belt check and charging system check not just a battery but that too checked when charged fully and seems it isn't?

Not if it has electric steering.
