Steering Wheel shake

I have a 69 Fairlane 500 fastback that I pulled the motor out of , did some repairs and re-installed. I got everything hooked back and she runs like a dream. My problem is that my power steering isn't working properly. I have all new fluid and no leaks but the steering wheel just shakes from side to side. Not a little bit but a lot, I'm talking 5-6 inches of movement. When I grab it and help it turn all the way to one side it will automatically turn the opposite way and then just sit there and shake back and forth. I did have the hoses off the bottom stabilizing cylinder but I can swear I put them back properly. I'm thinking a lot of air in the line but it should have worked out in the 10 minutes or so that I was turning it from side to side. Any ideas?

You got the lines from the steering control valve to the power cylinder reversed. Been there and done that myself long ago.

I could swear I had them right but you're probably correct. I will switch them around and give it a try. I really do appreciate your help.

I did that myself on a 69 Mustang after doing an engine overhaul. I started it up and the whole car was wiggling back and forth. I looked at the wheels and they were moving back and forth. I grabbed the steering wheel and it about ripped my hand off as it went all the way over to lock...LOL
