2001 Echo Wheel Bearing - Part	Sign In

Hello all,

This Echo needs at least one front wheel bearing - one is very very bad and the other is starting to make noise. Old car, many miles.

Two questions - can/should they both be replaced at the same time or can the worst be replaced now and the other replaced later?

Replace bearings only, or is it better to replace the whole assembly?

I'm no mechanic - any help would be appreciated.

There's nothing to stop you from changing them one at a time but it just make any sense. Change them both and get it done, once and for all.

Best to replace the whole assembly or just the bearings? - Considering the cost of repair -

You likely won't have an option. It just depends on how it is sold. Some are hub assemblies and some are pressed in bearings.

It's a press in bearing. I agree with getting them both done at the same time if possible.
