I have a 2003 pontiac montana that blows heat only when driving the van. If you are parked or are sitting at a red light, it doesn't blow hot air. Do I need a new thermostat?

first of all have the coolant level checked-low coolant can cause this--if its low have system pressure checked for leaks..
