leaking antifreeze Sign In

ive got a 2001 chevy cavalier with 100,oo0 miles.it over heated once,changed thermostat,was doin the same thing so i changed the waters pump out,ran great for about a month,then took it in and mechanic said heater core was leacking and blocked,so that was replaced,then it started over heating again ,took it back in and he flushed the radiator,now it runs between 195 and 200 degrees,but leacks anti freeze from somewhere on driverside???? i have seen no place where its leacking or why itsdoing this
.anyone got any ideas?????

You need to pressure test the cooling system to find the leak.

yea i was thinking about that lastnight,i would have thought the mechanic did it.but yea ill have to do it this weekend,and maybe put some dye in it as well.thanks.

Don't rush the dye idea. It leaves quite a mess if it isn't absolutely necessary. If there is an external leak, it will show eventually under pressure. If the pressure drops without anything external, it may be an internal issue like a blown head gasket.

Coolant already has dye in it.
