heater motor

i have a 87 s15 jimmy 4x4 the heater motor stopped working today it blew the fuse i put a new fuse in and the motor ran for 2 sec. then it blew the fuse . any ideas, could it be the ballast resistor? please help

Unplug the motor and install a new fuse. Turn the switch on. If the fuse holds replace the motor. If it still blows, you will have to unplug components one by one to see which one doesn't pop the fuse.
