They hadn't even heard of Cabin filters in '93. Have the refrigerant level check and make sure the air isn't coming out the exhaust instead.

Re: cabin filter Sign In

1993 - doubt the cabin filter very much as HT said. Most common reason for cooler air on passenger's side is low charge but don't just attack that yourself without full understanding of it!

If untouched for ages a small amount of charge will be lost normally. If it won't last properly for a year or two the leak (#1 reason for A/C issues) will be hard to find.

If dirty/very dusty where car is used a clean condenser and evaporator is possible too. Evap will be hard to get to and should be in line with the heater core too that plays a role. Leaves and pine needles can get in the wrong places too.

Think on this car you can remove the blower motor and get some view inside without too much trouble and would do that. If a mess clean it as best you can carefully or if real bad would have to come apart which you don't want to know how much trouble that is,

Re: cabin filter Sign In

thanks, my air dont work and im more worried about the heat, when the heat is on the center vents work ok , but the left and right ones dont seem to have much air coming out there isnt much coming out the center vents either and when on defrost the left on works ok but on the right i dont get much blowing, i have replace the motor last year but it didnt help as far as air flow goes all the vent things are working under the dash so i know they are opening and closing, i just cant understand why the air is not flowing out good enough the two side vents ( left and right) hardly have heat coming out and the center only has a little air flow, same on defrost also, i havent had the air looked at cause we cant use r12 here in wisconsin, but like i said im more worried about the heat flow, could something be blocking the air flow ? where do i look ? thanks for ur help.........Dennis

There is nothing that you have access to. There may be foam sealing that has rotted away but you can't reach any of it without tearing the whole car apart..

Re: cabin filter Sign In

Damn! Air should flow thru evaporator for A/C first whether it works for A/C or not is NOT the issue. I really think the evap (like a heater core in a way) and whatever is restricting air flow so long as obvious duct connections in dash are in place and good shape.

IDK - bet if too hard to see inside where blower motor is that compressed air might help and could make a mess in car so use floor vents for heat may make less of a mess if that works.

Somehow gotta get a look at what's going on in there,
