I can't see how to get to the mounting for the case it looks like its on the firewall from the inside. If you have the new one in hand you can tell better than I can. Is it just that housing or the whole box that holds everything? Look for clips, and studs that poke thru firewall - things like that, that may be stuck with goo even when all fasteners are removed they can be stuck.
