I've checked the low side port and it is registering 50-55 psi. So it seems like it has freon in it. I've checked the fuse (at least I think I did) in the black box under the hood? Which fuses should I check. The ac does its normal cycling it is just not cool. I've checked the other fluids in the car and they are all where they are supposed to be. I just don't know what to check next before I go through the expense of a mechanic when it could be a simple $3.00 fuse. Please help as I am now melting in the Texas heat.. Bless you..

First, don't keep creating new questions. Stay with one. I have locked your first one.

Diagnosing A/C is not for the inexperienced. Even the most experienced techs can frequently misdiagnose and A/C problem. The first thing you need is a set of professional gauges because you can't do anything with those single gauge "death kits" that you buy in the parts store. It's also very dangerous and you can easily do a lot of damage to the system so i suggest you get it to a shop that specializes in A/C repairs.

All I wanted to do was check the fuses. If you did not want to answer or had no clue, then you should not have posted. But thanks for your reply..

And don't be putting none of this junk in there. I'll come over there and snatch you bald.

If the front of the compressor is turning, why you checking fuses?

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Re: More AC Help Needed Sign In

Thanks for your reply but I would not put that in, 1) because I don't know how... 2) we were just checking the pressure by putting a gauge to see if what the psi was.... My friend is the one that was telling me the unit is cycling off and on but I have my doubts. My friend says it is because there is a sound it makes. I wanted to check the fuses to ensure that one was not out.... I wanted to check what could be the easiest (something I can do) because college is expensive and I'm paying for that for my son and have very little money for a mechanic to take a guess and keep putting good money after bad. I'll keep researching to find my answers because I don't know. If it is the something like the compressor, I think I'll just have to wait because from what I understand just the compressor alone is like $400.00. Thanks

Smile Can you please delete the post about the AC compressor? I've found the compressor and I've found that the plate on the outside is not turning. I have no idea what that means but I have called my mechanic and told him and he said okay now I can bring it in. (Whatever that means) Thanks for your help. I am still clueless as to why he needed me to find that information out but oh well. So again, if you could possibly delete that post since I obviously did not know that they were one in the same questions. Maybe soon, my AC will be working.

Re: More AC Help Needed Sign In

He asked because that tells him if the compressor is running or not.
