I have an '04 Mercedes CLK 320. When the air conditioning runs full blast moisture (condensation) collects on the insert between the 2 center air vents and leaves a sticky residue when it dries. I tried to get the dealer to replace the insert (this model has "full maintenance") but they now claim it was caused by an "outside agent", i.e, something was spilled on it. I know this isn't the case. Anybody else have this issue?

"VELLLY INTELLESTING!" (Artie Johnson - Laugh-In) The condensate (water) should be dripping to the ground but if it could reach a level too high it would blow thru the vents which should be much drier air than what went thru the evaperator. Did you own this car from new or have a full history on it? Rumor is/was that MB used sealer in factory fill of refrigerant charge which is a real NO NO in the biz as it would be like that "tire slime" for leaky tires. The evap in the Benzos is a major job to replace - like mega thousands $$ ching, ching! Take a sample with like an eyeglass wipe of white cloth and save that. Nothing but either outside air or recirc inside air should come out the vents. Anti-freeze and refrigerant (should have oil in with it) is in the distribution box but should stay sealed away from the air, T
