IG-LO/DRAF machine, changing from R12 to 134a

I have a IG-LO/DRAF 1400 Refrigerant Reclamation, Recovery, Recharge System machine that I've been using to recover and recharge R12 on cars and trucks. Basically it pulls the R12 from the vehicle into the machine then separates and measures the oil from the R12. The R12 then goes thru a series of 4 large Sporlen filters / driers, thru a moisture meter and then into a storage cylinder where it measures the amount of R12 that was cleaned/recovered and ready to be put back in. The machine only pulls a -4lbs vacuum & I have another pump to pull a deep vacuum.

I just sold my last vehicle that used R12 & I haven't been servicing many autos using R12, so I was thinking about changing my machine over to service only 134a. What all would I need to do or change on my machine to service 134a only, or can this even be done?

The last time I did the compressor maintenance it was serviced with new 3GS compressor oil. Would this oil be compatible with 134a?

Thank you for your time.

R12 hasn't been used in 25 years so that machine must be 30 plus years old. It's time to send it to the graveyard and upgrade to an actual 134 machine. Trying to convert machines never worked out very well.

Have to 2nd that......The hoses for R12 & 134 have different size threads that screw on to the manifold/machine...This was done on purpose.....You are going to need a new machine....

Man, where are you at where you can make a living working on R12 systems?

I picked up a RRR machine for R134a, so now I don't have to worry about my other R12 machine. Thanks.
