Hyundai XG300 Blower Motor Issue Sign In

Hyundai XG300 yr 2001

AC/Heat has not been working for almost a year on girlfriend's car. No matter what setting on the dials, the motor never turns on for either heat or air.

I pulled the blower motor completely out of the car and knocked the debris out of it. I wired it directly to the battery, and it does start up. The motor seems fine.

I pulled all of the related fuses and tested them. All fuses seem to be in working order.

I tested the connector that goes to the blower motor with the ignition turned on and the dials turned on, but there was no power on the line. I feel like that is an indicator of where the problem is but I am not knowledgeable enough to figure it out on my own.

Looking to fix this issue without taking it to a shop. I feel like it should be manageable but I need a bit of help. Thanks to anyone who can help me fix this.

First find where power to blower cuts out even possibly right at blower resistor on top of blower? Check wiring and any fuses that empower it.
You got motor going but it draws way too much current or did and will do this again so it's toast IMO - don't use that motor again and they are not serviceable at least to most. Sealed and crimped in place so can't redo one so easy.
Look for the failed parts and items mentioned that this motor was just drawing way too much current for the system,

I will get back into it tomorrow and try to trace where the power is cutting out. I had read earlier that the power draw from these older motors is what is the perpetual problem. I can test at the resistor, but I am having trouble getting it to disconnect. I will have to shop for a different motor to but only once I can see power going back to the connector since that is where the issue is.

? Just a replacement blower motor if you were thinking some different type - no. Just a new one along with the fix,
