1991 Chevrolet Cavalier. Housing underneath the dash is very warm. Fan blows equal air from both sides. Hot air only comes out of passenger side of vents (but still isn't super-hot as should be". Last year I took it in for repair and they fixed it, and it's happening again. Any ideas from someone experienced would be greatful! Again the plastic housing underneath the dash inside of the car is very warm. I am assuming that plenty of heat is getting inside, but not to the vents?? Thank you!

Move the selector knob to Floor, Defrost, Blend and so on. Make sure that the heat is diverted properly to the selection made. If it is, you may have a duct that came apart or is collapsed or restricted. You will have to look up under the dash with a flashlight and follow the ducts to see if they separated. Follow them all the way back to the heater module. If all looks good, you will have to take them off and see if they are clear of foreign debris. P.S. Use a flashlight not a drop light for underdash work. You get better pinpoint lighting and you also don't get forehead burns if you knock the light off of its hanging spot. LOL Steve
