I could really use some advice here...When i went out this morning my van wasn't blowing hot air...but the temperature gauge kept climbing like it was over heating...I thought it was the thermostat but when the car is actually moving it starts blowing hot air and th gauge starts to go back down...When i stop the gauge starting going up again and it starts blowing cold again...could this still be the thermostat or is it a fan issue?

This could be a t-stat problem, low coolant level or perhaps a clogged radiator/heater core. Temp should hold the same year round. If overheating you won't get heat as crazy as that sounds, T
