Ford Taurus Sign In

Hi folks:

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus SES.

The fan that controls the AC, heater, defroster ONLY works on HIGH. Weird. I can't tell by the owner's manual what the story might be. Any help on this?

Thanks!

Re: Ford Taurus Sign In

More than likely it is the blower resistor. Usually it fails in the high default position. I believe it is located under the dash on the passenger side on the bottom of the heater box. Look to the center of the car. It should have a small wiring connection on it with 5 or 6 wires going to it. It is held in place with 3 small screws.

Sorry, there are 2 small screws holding it in place. It probably has 4 wires. If you look under the passenger side and towards the center hump, you will see it. It is about 2 inches by 1 1/2 inches.

Re: Ford Taurus Sign In

Don't tell anyone, but it was somewhere around 1966. Been doing Fords since 1984. Lost a lot of the printed info on older Fords over the years, but have all the newer info, 1996 and up.

Re: Ford Taurus Sign In

As with the documents, I suspect you could handle most cars pre 96 from retained knowledge, and may need to look up a few repairs on the newer cars during repairs right?
