Blower motor	Sign In

I have a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim 4 cylinder. Two questions:

1. Where is the blower motor on this car? It doesn't appear to be under the hood. I assume it must be under the dash on the passenger side. I have pulled off the first "layer" of plastic covering at the bottom of the dash just above the floorboard on the passenger side, but I don't see any blower motor yet. I'm kinda hesitant to dig too much deeper into the dash until I find out...

2. ...is replacement of this blower motor something your average joe with moderate mechaniking- (and below average spelling-) skills can replace?

This is a "git-er done" for louzy spelers and fair mekanically. Click above and check out that - a freebe from AZ with some pics and all! This one get done with taking out the glove box, not that uncommon for assorted work that's behind it. Usually strains your 1/4 drive socket collection.

Take a look see and decide if you can/want to do this job. Pay lots of attention to connecting everything back up. There may or may not be goooky stuff between flare of motor and housing to reguck up.

I'd say go fer it,

Thanks a bunch Tom. That definitely looks doable.

Hate to say it (having worked in a mom & pop auto supply in my younger days which was basically driven outta business by the big guys), but that Auto Zone site seems like a fantastic resource.

I do miss the Mom and Pop auto parts type stores but things got crazy out there. There just weren't so damn many different cars and you could just remember part #s for many things.

AZ at the moment (don't know if they are a site sponsor or not??) but they do make look ups easy. Another is "Google Images" where I've found detailed pics of stupid parts or about anything you can think of. If it shows the car above should be your 94 Plymouth Acclaim - you didn't state the color but someone probably has one out there in your color too.

What did we ever do without computers?
