BEFORE USING THIS FORUM FOR A/C PROBLEMS

As a rule, A/C repairs are not the type of repairs that should be attempted by anyone without extensive A/C understanding. It take years of experience and extensive understanding of refrigerant principles to recognize issues revealed during an A/C repair that may have caused the original failure or may lead to a more serious immediate failure due to procedures done incorrectly or overlooked during a repair. It is also against Federal law to vent refrigerant and not use an approved recovery machine. Refrigerant can also be very dangerous to handle by inexperienced people and can lead to serious injury. For this reason this section is here to give technical assistance to people with considerable experience in auto refrigeration repairs and any novices in this area of repair should contact a local professional. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Good one Hammer. Just my additional note as essentially just said is this is NOT a great thing to save money on by DIYing it. We know everyone wants to save a buck and too many will find out that in trying to do so will make it lots more expensive to really get something fixed. When in doubt, send it out, Tom
