My sister has a 1993 GMC Jimmy. Her AC stopped cooling off the car, and just recently she says that if she accelerates while the AC is on, she hears a noise. Like a small click or metal tink, from what I could hear. I'm not good with cars and want to know if this could be something that could develop into a major issue or if it has an easier fix than taking it to a mechanic.

Is she having any problem with the air switching from the face vents when accelerating? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Nope, just not blowing cold air and sometimes there is a tink when she accelerates and the ac is on. she did say one vent wasn't blowing as much as the others.

Is accelerating the only time she has a problem with the AC or has that just quit altogether. Is it blowing heated air or just ambient air temp? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

It seems to be blowing the ambient air temp. the problem is constant but the noise only happens when she accelerates and then it only lasts a second.
