AC Suction Hose repair Help Sign In

Have 2013 Kia Sportage with a small hole about half size of a dime in rubber AC suction hose where rubbed against pulley. Hole is located on a 90 degree bend. The whole hose assembly (aluminum and rubber crimped) is one piece from firewall to front of the vehicle and dealer estimate is 839.00, that is not an option. Local hydraulic hose manufacturer, said could fabricate something but would probably be similar to cost of new assembly from dealer. Any ideas, splice kit, barbed fitting with hose clamp?

You already know your only two options.

Even the repair option still requires just as much labor to remove it and recharge the system so the cost of the hose only represents a small portion of the repair..

Cheapest I can locate hose is $350.00. Thinking trying barbed fitting and hose clamps. Looked at Fibre Fix tape over JB Welded patch..but not very familiar with the fiberglass/epoxy tape.

Forget that nonsense. There is no patch that will repair a rubber AC hose.

If you remove the hose and bring it to an AC shop that builds hoses, they can crimp a new hose on it for a lot less money.
