AC Power Sign In

I notice this morning that my car wasn't blowing at 100% AC power, it has 7 levels and it would increase from 1-5 but level 6-7 would stay at level 5. It's still blowing cold air but just not at full power - stop at level 5 instead of 7. Any thoughts or help?

I guess you're not sure what kind of car you drive either.

Re: AC Power Sign In

2006 benz C300 - 80k. AC was working fine until I had a oil change tune up and drive belt done last friday. I was driving to my guys shop and about yesterday and about 2miles into the trip my AC came on full power. Now it seems to come on full power about 2-3 miles into my trips.

Re: AC Power Sign In

There is no 06 C 300, I'm guessing you meant 06 C 350?. There is a 93 300CE.

Either way it sound like you have a problem in the control head or related wiring. There really isn't much DIY service that can be done in this area so it my be a good idea to let your guy take a look at it.....

I don't see how any of the maintenance work you had done could be related to the problem but it wouldn't hurt for him to look everything over......

Found out it was blower motor resistor - got the part off ebay for 35 bucks.

Re: AC Power Sign In

Cool (pun intended), glad to hear you got it going... Hell I didn't think there was anything on a Benz for $35..... Just getting a hello in the service dept when you walk in is $50. Cool

As far as your other question, I'm not a real big Euro guy, mainly Domestic & Asian but I believe those are the same parts. I've really only ever heard of a blower motor resistor final stage units referred to with Bemers. I believe it's similiar to the Hondas blower power transistor where its now a module & one of it's jobs is to control the blower motor speed...

All are basically blower motor resistors, some just do a little more.....

If someone else has a better answer, I'm sure they'll jump in.....
